About the role

Finferries is a state-owned shipping company responsible for connection vessel, ferry and cable ferry traffic on 50 routes in Finland. Over 4 million vehicles and 10 million passengers are transported annually. We currently employ over 350 people. We are looking for a technical inspector for permanent employment in Turku. As a technical inspector, you are responsible for the maintenance and repair operations of designated vessels, dockings and the implementation of costs within the set budgets. The core of your work is the careful planning and coordination of predictive maintenance activities in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. Success in the position also requires the ability to react quickly and manage urgent repair work effectively in changing situations. The work requires movement and readiness to travel to vessels in your area of responsibility in Maritime Finland. What we expect from you: - Suitable technical education (e.g. marine electrical engineer, mechanical engineer) - Good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering – we especially value electrical engineering expertise in the context of modern ship technology - Ability to perform varied and diverse tasks - Good stress tolerance and problem-solving skills - Proactive and planned way of working - Good interaction and cooperation skills In addition, it is considered an advantage if you have experience of round-the-clock maintenance and repair operations and an understanding of predictive maintenance. We value interest in technological development and a desire to learn new things. A holistic cost approach, taking into account the life-cycle costs of the equipment, is also an advantage. Swedish and English language skills are useful in the position.
