About the role

Do you want your work to influence our clients' ability to live independently and safely in their own homes for as long as possible? Now there is an opportunity to utilize your expertise extensively in nursing alarm and safety assistance tasks! We are looking for one Emergency Center Dispatcher for a permanent employment contract at the Espoo Situation Center. In your role, you will get to build a completely new operation together with other experts of the wellbeing services county. In your position, you will ensure that our clients receive high-quality and prompt assistance around the clock. You will have nursing responsibility for the team per shift and will guide, advise, and support other emergency center dispatchers, and be available for consultation by safety assistants. You will act as a consultant for staff handling safety assistance tasks, hold coordination responsibility for the team in disruption and crisis situations, and plan and organize training regarding safety assistance tasks. Our clients are users of the safety assistance service in all municipalities of the wellbeing services county. Most clients are elderly. Other key areas of responsibility include receiving alarms through the emergency center system, contacting clients, determining the reasons for alarms, assessing the need for care, and providing remote guidance. When necessary, you will forward safety assistance tasks to staff performing home visits, mobile hospitals, or emergency medical services and coordinate services provided to clients. You will manage the situational picture of safety alarms via the emergency center system and monitor the progress of alarm tasks. Your responsibilities include documenting the assessment of care needs and follow-up actions in the patient information system, reporting the situation to another professional if necessary, and receiving test calls from safety devices. Additionally, you will monitor the status of clients' devices through device management and report anomalies, such as decreasing battery power, to the field. You will participate in the continuous development of the safety assistance service and work closely with various partners, such as home care and rescue authorities. You learn the use of new systems quickly and use the systems required in the work (patient information system, emergency center system, safety device management system, and sensor data analysis platform) fluently. You are familiar with emergency and dispatch center operations in the social and health care sector and key social and health care legislation. Eligibility requirement: Paramedic (UAS), i.e., Registered Nurse UAS + paramedic supplementary training. Requirements for the position: - excellent oral and written communication skills in Finnish and Swedish - good cooperation and coordination skills; you meet people calmly and empathetically - fast and accurate assessment of the client's situation and need for help based on alarm data and conversation - ability to make independent decisions based on common operating models and instructions - knowledge of emergency and dispatch center operations in the social and health care sector and key social and health care legislation - agile use of or ability to learn new systems (patient information system, emergency center system, safety device management system, and sensor data analysis platform) - comprehensive understanding of the service entity of home living support and client needs. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract necessary for verifying the criminal background of a person working with elderly people in accordance with Section 28 of Act 741/2023. The position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis screening according to Section 55 of the Communicable Diseases Act.
