AAC Interpreter for Speech-Impaired

The job is as a personal assistant providing home-based support to a client, using AAC training to support communication and participation. The role requires compassionate interaction, ability to work independently in the client’s home, and flexibility to support shifts generally between 6:00 and 18:00, with overall hours in the 10–20 per month range. Training in AAC and relevant educational background are required options include sign language interpreter, communication supervisor qualification, or speech-impaired interpreter with device-guidance. Responsibilities include supporting daily activities, aiding communication via AAC methods, and promoting well-being and participation. The position is contracted via a framework agreement with Onni, with shifts offered through the DomaCare system, and pay/terms governed by the private social services collective agreement. Eligible applicants will be provided orientation, and support is available during shifts. A valid license to drive and access to a car is required. The employer offers flexible part-time work, orientation and support, opportunities to gain experience in varied settings, and pay according to the agreement.
