About the role

**We are seeking a 3D Printer / 3D Designer to Oulu** **Do you want to work with technology where every workday brings a new kind of challenge to solve?** Aliner3D is looking for a technically skilled and eager-to-learn 3D printer / 3D designer. We are looking for a doer who understands machinery, takes action, and finds solutions to new types of problems. Your degree title will not decide the selection. The most important thing to us is that you understand what you are doing and why you are doing it. **What does the work involve?** You will be responsible for the practical implementation of our customers' 3D printing orders. The work begins with evaluating the digital 3D model and its printability, after which you select the appropriate printer, material, and printing settings. Your duties include: - 3D printing customer orders - Checking the printability of 3D models - Selecting printing settings and materials - Monitoring printing processes and quality assurance - Finishing and post-processing prints - Maintenance, repair, and upkeep of 3D printers - Packing and shipping completed orders - 3D scanning at customer sites and in our own premises - Processing scanning data and reverse engineering - 3D design and development of existing products - Turning customer ideas into manufacturable 3D models - Developing work methods, hardware, and production processes In this role, you get to follow a product's entire journey from idea to finished product. During a single day, you might design a spare part, scan the original piece, and manufacture a ready-to-use product from it. **Aliner3D – from idea to finished product** Aliner3D is a growing 3D technology company operating in Oulu. We provide 3D design, 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and 3D printing for companies, industry, and other customers. We manufacture individual products, prototypes, spare parts, and small production batches. We assist the customer throughout the entire process or implement only the necessary work stage. We use approximately 20 3D printers of various sizes. We can manufacture products ranging from parts smaller than one centimeter to prints up to 2.4 meters. For 3D scanning, we use professional **Artec Leo and Artec Spider scanners**. We also utilize high-quality scanning and reverse engineering software. **In 3D design, we utilize the following software, among others:** - SOLIDWORKS premium - Geomagic Design X - Artec Studio - Autodesk Fusion - Blender - Meshy - other 3D and AI-based tools suitable for the project You will get to work with high-quality industry equipment and the best software. You will also have the opportunity to influence how our production and operating methods are developed. **What do we expect from you?** You have a strong technical understanding and a practical approach to work. You understand how machines, structures, and manufactured products function. We expect from you: - experience in 3D printing - at least basic skills in 3D design - interest in 3D scanning and reverse engineering - ability to visualize product structures and operating principles - good practical manual skills and precise eye-hand coordination - ability to use calipers and other basic measuring tools - a careful and systematic way of working - ability to work independently - courage to take on new and challenging tasks - desire to develop your own skills and working methods - interest in learning new software and technologies - a responsible attitude toward customer orders, quality, and schedules - good IT skills - good oral and written English skills Your background could be, for example, a mechanical engineer, machinist, designer, or an expert in another technical field. You may also be someone who has acquired their expertise through practical experience. A perfectly ready expert may not be found immediately. Therefore, we are ready to train you for the position and acquire necessary international remote training. **AI is part of our workday** We require that you can utilize AI and want to use it daily as a coworker. AI is used, for example, for information retrieval, problem solving, design support, and developing work processes. You do not need to be familiar with all the tools in advance. However, you must have the desire to experiment, learn, and implement new solutions quickly. For us, a good attitude means practical action.
