About the role

Are you the active and courageous school assistant we are looking for in our demanding support team? We are now looking for a school assistant for special education and demanding special education. The duties of the school assistant include supporting and assisting students in all daily activities, such as washing, dining, school transport and possible care procedures. The work of the school assistant is physical and requires readiness to work with children. The position requires the ability to communicate also with alternative communication methods, such as support sign language and by using various communication aids. Close cooperation is carried out with guardians and parties caring for and rehabilitating the student. As a school assistant, you are part of the classroom's and school's multidisciplinary team that supports students' growth, development and learning. Working in the school world, you will not be left alone with things, but you will have colleagues present and the support of the team to help you. Close joint planning and doing things together are an integral part of everyday life. The work of a school assistant is immensely valuable. Your work and expertise are appreciated in the work community and you have a real opportunity to influence operations and implement your own strengths. Shifts are scheduled on weekdays between 7.15-16.15. Work is also done during school holidays in holiday activities. Ilola School is a diverse local school for grades 1-5, where teaching is done with a big heart. Our school is located near the ring rail line and is surrounded by a large forest area, which we use extensively to expand our learning environment. The foundation of our operational culture consists of respect, safety, cooperation and positivity. The school's slogan “Joy through Ilola - Learning Together” contains the idea of a well-being, self-confident and positively learning community. The community supports the individual on their own learning path so that they have the opportunity to achieve their own goals. Employment details: Eligibility requirement: Vocational qualification in education and guidance, school and morning and afternoon activity instructor or other similar vocational qualification. In addition to the eligibility requirement, we require: good Finnish language skills good interaction and teamwork skills expertise in working in a city-level special support group. We consider it an advantage: Experience of working with disabled children Terms of service are determined in accordance with the Municipal General Government and Collective Agreement (KVTES) Salary: 2490.75 eur/month. In addition, a possible addition based on previous work experience.
