Machine Maintenance Engineer

Would you like to help make the world’s best rock drills? We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to support the reliable operation of production equipment and ensure that maintenance runs smoothly. You will work with production, maintenance staff, and external service and equipment suppliers. The role is full-time and permanent, based at the Tampere Myllypuro site, a development and manufacturing centre for surface and underground drilling equipment. The Rock Drills technology unit is part of the Surface Drilling division and is responsible for the design, development and manufacture of Sandvik’s drilling equipment’s core component: the rock drill. A rock drill must withstand hundreds of millions of impacts during its life in demanding conditions, which makes quality, reliability and productivity cornerstones of our product development and manufacturing. Our modern rock-drill factory is designed to meet these requirements using the latest technology and working methods. Key responsibilities · Identify and procure spare parts and maintenance supplies, and ensure their availability. · Maintain maintenance information systems and equipment data. · Arrange, order and follow up on repair and service work. · Provide technical support to maintenance and production and participate in troubleshooting production equipment. · Coordinate and implement modifications to machinery and equipment and support commissioning. · Cooperate with equipment manufacturers, suppliers and maintenance partners. What we hope for from you · Suitable technical education. · Experience in industrial maintenance, production equipment or a machine automation environment. · A systematic and proactive approach to work. · Good problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate technical faults. · Good cooperation and communication skills. · Fluent Finnish and readiness to use English in technical communication.
