Job Description: We are looking for a department manager to lead the operational activities of our company's internal supply chain and material flow management within the shipyard area and in separately defined locations. The core of the role is ensuring the smoothness of production – the right materials are in the right place at the right time, and the logistics as a whole works predictably and efficiently. You are responsible for the overall operational logistics, which includes block factory logistics, warehouse operations, distribution of outfitting material, and lifting operations. You lead your own organization purposefully and develop operations systematically towards an integrated and transparent supply chain. You utilize data in decision-making and guide operations according to the principles of continuous improvement. Success in the role requires the ability to combine operational management and long-term development. You are responsible for the timeliness of processes, develop operating models, and ensure their implementation and the development of expertise throughout the area of responsibility. You work in close cooperation with production and other internal customers and play a key role as a partner to the logistics development function. You work in a matrix organization mainly in ship projects and lead extensive stakeholder cooperation. Your partners include internally production, basic design, procurement and operational control functions, and externally logistics service providers, material suppliers and network partners. As a department manager, you actively participate in the development and implementation of the logistics strategy and are responsible for the continuous development of the goals, operating models and performance of your area of responsibility. What we expect from you: - Strong experience in operational management of logistics, material management or supply chain - Evidence of successful supervisory work and organizational development - Ability to lead operations based on data and develop processes systematically - Understanding of project activities and ability to operate in a matrix organization - Excellent interaction and cooperation skills in a wide stakeholder field - Ability to combine operational management and strategic development - Suitable university degree In addition, we require excellent oral and written English language skills from the applicant.
