Senior Software Engineer (AI Applications) - AlphaSense - Remote - Global

Seeking a passionate Senior Engineer to join our Content Engineering team. This team specializes in large-scale content processing using cutting-edge technologies. In this role, you'll leverage AI applications (NLP, LLM) for document understanding, including, but not limited to, document classification, text categorization, data extraction, and semantic similarity. Requirements: - 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, primarily with Python - Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with focus on AI or machine learning - 2+ years of experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) - Experience in extracting structured JSON from text using LLMs and prompt engineering - Proficiency in NLP libraries for tasks like NER, text classification - Experience with LLM tracing, debugging platforms such as Langfuse - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills Great to have: - Experience in async data processing at scale - Frameworks like LangChain, HuggingFace, FastAPI - Core engineering skills: Cloud, microservices, caching, queuing - Familiarity with Docker, k8s, VCS, CI/CD - Data extraction from specific domains (financial reports, news) Responsibilities: - Deploy production-grade LLM solutions - Fine-tune and adapt LLMs for data extraction - Develop prompt engineering strategies - Solve engineering challenges like latency and non-determinism - Scale data processing pipelines - Manage LLM observability - End-to-end system ownership AlphaSense is committed to equal opportunity employment and a respectful work environment.
