Director of Science and Innovation

GTK seeks a Director of Science and Innovation to lead the research and innovation function for a fixed-term appointment until 31 July 2031. The role is based in Espoo, Kokkola, Kuopio, Outokumpu or Rovaniemi with flexible remote work within Finland. You will be a member of GTK’s executive team, responsible for strategic leadership of research and innovation operations, developing scientific excellence, and modernising the research infrastructure, ensuring impact for customers, society and business. You will report to the CEO. The position emphasizes high-quality research and the creation of prerequisites for successful research and innovation activities, developing domestic and international partnerships with universities, research institutes, businesses and other stakeholders, and oversight of personnel and performance.
