Your Role We are seeking a specialist in pediatric surgery for the pediatric and adolescent surgery unit at Turku University Hospital. You will work as part of a skilled pediatric and adolescent surgery team and participate in the care of all pediatric and adolescent surgical patients. Your work is versatile and includes working in the ward, day surgery unit, operating room, and outpatient clinic. Additionally, you will provide consultations within the pediatric service area regarding pediatric and adolescent surgery issues. You will work in an environment where various aspects of pediatric and adolescent surgery are extensively represented. The position also includes on-call duties. What We Expect From You We require good cooperation and interaction skills, as well as good oral and written proficiency in Finnish and Swedish. Extensive experience in pediatric surgery and the ability to operate independently in a pediatric surgical unit are considered advantages. We also value extensive on-call experience in the field of pediatric surgery. Interest in research, interest in pediatric cranial surgery, and a Doctor of Medicine degree are seen as advantages. Additionally, broad general expertise in both pediatric soft tissue surgery and pediatric orthopedics is beneficial. Experience as a clinical teacher in basic medical education and as a training responsible physician in specialist medical training are also considered advantages. Eligibility requirement is the legalization or permit to act in the duties of a physician as stipulated in the Act on Health Care Professionals (559/94) and specialist qualification in a field suitable for the position.
