The City of Jakobstad now offers a temporary position for the period 28 September 2026 to 19 May 2027 as a teacher in early childhood education for our Swedish-speaking day care Maria-Marjala day care. In early childhood education in Jakobstad we work purposefully for a positive, inclusive and strength-based pedagogy where every child is given the opportunity to develop according to their abilities. As a teacher in early childhood education you work in a multidisciplinary team in a day care or preschool group. You are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the pedagogical activities in accordance with the plan for early childhood education. Your duties include: leading and developing the pedagogical activities in the child group; working purposefully according to the children’s needs and strengths; ensuring an inclusive and safe learning environment; working closely with colleagues, guardians and other partners; contributing to the team’s planning and development work. Eligibility requirements are those laid down in the Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018). Probation period is 5 months. When selecting, also the person’s suitability for the work community and group is taken into account. Working hours for teachers in early childhood education are 38 h 15 min/week. Salary for this position is 2941,36 €/month. Salary is determined according to UKTA, Section G, level-based pay system.
