JOBS OFFERED AS PERSONAL ASSISTANT We are now looking for new personal assistants for our clients for important but flexible caregiving work. The job is paid work under private social services sector collective agreement and suits someone seeking full-time, part-time, sporadic, or gig work. As a personal assistant you decide how much and when you work, so the job can fit alongside another job or studies. No special training is required for the assistant role; the right attitude and reliability are the most important qualities for an excellent personal assistant. At Aarre Avustajat you receive continuous support and guidance from your own supervisor, and you will never be left alone with your tasks or questions. What is a personal assistant and what does the assistant do? Personal assistance is a service where the personal assistant acts as the client’s hands and feet, carrying out tasks the client would do themselves but cannot do alone due to a disability or illness. The purpose is to help the client with everyday tasks at home and outside the home. Often the tasks are ordinary everyday chores that we all do in our own daily lives. The duties do not include tasks requiring, for example, a practical nurse degree, as anyone can act as an assistant. Examples of tasks include assisting the client in shopping, going for a walk, meals, cooking, getting dressed, hobbies, or household chores. What kind of person is suitable as an assistant? We have found that the best fit are people with the right attitude toward caregiving work: reliable, positive, helpful, diligent and people-oriented. No previous relevant work experience is required, as every new assistant is trained comprehensively in Aarre Avustajat’s own training academy before starting work. Experience or education in caregiving can be beneficial for some clients. What shifts are available and can I influence them? Personal assistance is a service that takes place on weekdays and weekends, and shifts can often be found from morning to evening. At Aarre Avustajilla you can influence how much and when you want to work and for which client. We aim to match the clients’ assistance needs with our assistants’ work wishes so that it suits everyone. You will always have the chance to meet a new client before starting a client relationship, and if something does not work as you thought, we can find a suitable alternative together.
