Welcome to Tapiks! Tapainlinna School is a comprehensive school with approximately 630 students in the center of Hyvinkää. In the coming academic year, about 150 students will study in grades 1–6 in our primary school, and our lower secondary school is a seven-grade system. Our large work community consists of over 60 education and teaching professionals. We are looking for a positive, enthusiastic member who fits into our competent and close-knit community, enjoys collaborative work, and develops the school with the student's best interest in mind. A good sense of humor and tactical awareness are definitely considered assets! Primary school class teachers at our school work closely with the entire school staff and student welfare services, so experience in co-teaching and multidisciplinary collaboration is an advantage. It is clear to us that the incoming class teacher must have strong skills in interacting with children and guardians, as well as the ability for straightforward everyday cooperation with everyone. We are therefore seeking an enthusiastic and motivated teaching professional with strong pedagogical skills, excellent group management and interaction skills, and a thorough command of the primary school curriculum in various subjects. We also value good skills and experience in teaching music and crafts (hard materials). The position requires good proficiency in the Finnish language. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for a bright and wonderful 6th-grade class of 20 students. In addition to your own class lessons, there is teaching in grades 3 and 4 (music, religion, social studies + environmental studies) as well as an optional communication workshop subject. At Tapainlinna School, in addition to general education in lower secondary school, there are two specialized classes: a mathematics class and a music class. Our school values are community, respectful interaction, and a good work ethic, which we use to support and encourage every student. Together we are more! The eligibility requirements for the position are determined in accordance with the Decree on the Eligibility Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/98). In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility requirements, the position may be filled on a fixed-term basis for the period 10.8.2026–5.6.2027. The terms of employment are determined by the Collective Agreement for Municipal Teaching Staff (OVTES). A four (4) month probationary period applies to the official relationship. The selection is conditional. Before the selection is confirmed, and no later than 30 days after notification of the selection decision, the selected person must provide the employer with an acceptable medical certificate of their health status and present an acceptable criminal record extract as required by Act 504/2002.
