Electrical Traction Designer

As an electrical traction designer, you work on railway and tramway projects as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. You will design traction systems for mainline and urban rail networks and participate in activities from early feasibility to construction level design. Responsibilities include designing overhead catenary, power supply and earthing systems and their details in railway environments; contributing to traction route planning and structural elements; using and developing Sweco’s unique traction design software and methods; participating in team and project meetings and collaborating with engineers from other disciplines; producing high-quality plans and technical documents and driving solutions that improve performance and reliability of rail systems; contributing to continuous improvement of processes and design environments. Your team is part of the Infra and Mobility division, Electrical Engineering unit, with close collaboration across Sweco offices and international colleagues. We operate with a hybrid work model combining remote and on-site work. You can be located in Helsinki, Riihimäki, Lahti, Oulu, Turku or Tampere, and we also collaborate with colleagues from Sweco countries abroad.
