Structural Engineer

We are seeking a structural strength engineer to join Comatec Process and Automation. You will work on diverse industrial projects and tackle structural challenges using modern calculation tools (RFem and Ansys). The role can be based in Oulu, Tampere, Pori, Kankaanpää or Kuopio with a flexible hybrid work arrangement. You will be part of a network of experienced professionals at Comatec Group, contributing to mechanical and plant design across industries, with decades of experience. Responsibilities include steel and lattice structure strength calculations, structural strength reviews and sizing, creating and analyzing calculation models, collaborating with designers, project managers and customers, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards. Requirements include experience in steel structure strength calculations, relevant education (e.g., MSc or engineer), experience with FEM calculations and use of RFem and Ansys, understanding of welded steel structures and their design, knowledge of steel construction standards, fluent Finnish and proficient English, careful and methodical work approach, and strong teamwork skills. Desirable experiences include project management methods, steel structure design, Tekla modeling, and willingness to travel.
