School Assistant

Valkeavuori School is a comprehensive school for grades 1-9, with 840 students studying in the upcoming academic year 26-27. We are seeking two school assistants for fixed-term employment until June 5, 2027. Working hours are 25-30h/week. You will work as an assistant for grades 6-9 in cooperation with the special education teacher. You have experience working with children and young people and guiding students who need strong support. You are responsible and have good interaction skills. In the school day, you demonstrate situational awareness and stress tolerance when working with youth. You have a positive attitude and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks. Children's safety is important in all our activities, and a commitment to protect children's personal integrity and safety is an absolute requirement for selection. Therefore, we will check your criminal record before concluding the employment contract (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). The eligibility requirement for the position is at least a vocational upper secondary degree, such as a degree for school assistants and morning/afternoon activity instructors, a practical nurse degree (field of care and education of children and youth), or another degree suitable for the position. In the absence of an applicant meeting the eligibility criteria, we will also consider applicants with other suitable work experience and training. The level salary for the position with full working hours (38.25h/week) is €2,435.45/month. Work and salary payments are suspended during school closures (autumn, Christmas, and winter breaks, as well as summer vacation) if annual leave days are not available.
