We are looking for a professional passionate about improvisation and theater-style expression to lead improvisation courses organized by our association in autumn 2026. The role involves instructing a beginner and an advanced course, with 8-20 people each depending on registration numbers. Each course consists of eight weekly three-hour teaching sessions, taking place approximately between weeks 37-49. The hourly pay for the courses is approximately 16-22 €/h depending on experience and education. The compensation is negotiable, so please contact us to discuss further! In addition to an employment contract, invoicing is also possible, in which case typical overhead costs are added to the hourly rate. The courses are primarily held on weekday evenings in person in Otaniemi, Espoo. In the beginner course, you will instruct beginners who are interested in improvisation, while in the advanced course, participants are typically more experienced, often having completed the beginner course or being actors in our productions. Many participants are Aalto University students, but the courses are open to everyone. The exact content of the sessions is largely at the instructor's discretion. In previous years, the courses have been marketed as follows: Key themes of the improvisation courses are letting go of planning, being influenced by others' ideas, and supporting others. Learning takes place through easy, fun, and insightful exercises as well as deepening debriefing discussions. The themes and skills learned in the courses can be applied to any performance, for example, in professional or student life! **What do we expect from you?** - Experience or at least a strong interest in improvisation and theater arts - Readiness to instruct both inexperienced beginners and more experienced hobbyists in improvisation and self-expression - Ability and vision to design a meaningful course program on themes of improvisation and performance **What is considered an advantage?** - Completed or ongoing education related to the field - Ability to potentially conduct the course in English as well
