The City of Porvoo's youth services are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled instructor for a two-year project for the period 1.9.2026 - 30.6.2027 (start date negotiable). The project began in April 2025. You will continue a project that has already helped many young people find leisure activities or hobbies they enjoy. The goal of the "Integration through hobbies" project is to guide children and young people from immigrant backgrounds toward hobbies and leisure activities, especially those who do not yet have any. The target group is children and young people under 29 years of age. We offer you an interesting and meaningful role where you can apply your expertise every day, the opportunity to influence the lives of young people and promote their well-being, and close cooperation with the youth services team, schools, educational institutions, and other networks. Your tasks are: - Guide children and young people from immigrant backgrounds toward hobbies and leisure activities, emphasizing opportunities for voluntary participation. Themes include inactivity, functional capacity, inclusion, integration, and the prevention of social exclusion. - Plan and implement group presentations, training, and guidance. - Meet, guide, and instruct children, young people, representatives of integration services and other networks, parents, and hobby instructors. - Perform outreach work, accompanying children and young people to explore different hobbies and activity environments. - Participate in the planning and implementation of holiday activities for leisure services together with other employees. As an instructor, you will promote equality, the realization of human rights, and sustainable development in our activities. The City of Porvoo participates in the Finnish hobby model. You will work in close cooperation with the hobby model coordinator and the outreach hobby activity instructor. We require a suitable university or college degree and relevant work experience. Good interaction and organizational skills, as well as initiative. A developing, inspiring, and creative approach to work, and the courage to try new solutions. Good proficiency in Finnish, both spoken and written. Knowledge of other languages and cultures, experience using interpreting services, and experience in promoting the integration of immigrants are considered assets. Work experience with children and young people, as well as knowledge of Porvoo's hobby and leisure activity environments and opportunities. Salary according to KVTES. The level salary is €2,571.30/month + possible experience increments. Working hours are 38.25 hours per week. The work also includes evening work and occasional weekend work. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Act 504/2002 (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children) before starting work. The probationary period is half the duration of the employment relationship. Porvoo youth services provide diverse services for young people in Porvoo.
