
Electronic Technician

Overview: Participate in the Designs and develops of all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment and machinery. Provide support for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware. Principal Duties & Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes. Support the maintenance department in electrical/electronic systems troubleshooting. Provide technical support and direction to the maintenance department for maintaining electrical and electronic equipment in a manner which optimizes operational performance and safety. Manage small assigned projects which include cost estimations, designs, specifications, approvals, procurement, installation, startup, cost control, safety and overall implementation to achieve Plant and organizational objectives. Support outsourced repairs of critical electronic components. Adhere to all Corporate and Plant practices and policies in all aspects of work and ensure compliance with Federal, State and local electrical codes, and regulations. Partner with Electrical Engr. and Controls Engr. in the Development, writing, and de-bugging control logic for machine control, make design modifications and improvements to complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to the component level as required to make repairs and return equipment to operation. Utilize programming devices to analyze P.L.C. programs for failures or improvements. Maintain detailed records of critical process variables and ensure that programs are logical and as comprehensible as possible. Support the electricians in troubleshooting, repair and program AC/DC drive systems including off-shifts and weekends. Troubleshoot issues utilizing current technology including electrical test equipment and computer diagnosis equipment. Maintain existing documentation and ensure information is accessible to other team members. Participate with Operations to solve manufacturing problems, initiate productivity improvements, and identify future opportunities for the overall continual improvement of the Sedalia operation. Liaison with Engineering and Maintenance Team. Perform other related duties as per direction of the Manager and the Coordinator Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Advanced computer skills required including PLC programming and CAD. (Experience with Wonderware a plus). Understanding types of communication, DH+, Serial (Rs232, RS485) ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet, Ability to understand routing, gateways and VLan’s. Qualifications: Electrical/Electronics Technician Minimum 2 years of experience in PLC, Drives, Programing in Industrial Maintenance (wire & cable experience highly desirable). Work Environment/Physical Demands: Will work in both factory and office conditions.

Requirements
- Electrical/Electronics Technician qualification
- Minimum 2 years of experience in PLC, Drives, and Programming in Industrial Maintenance
- Advanced computer skills including PLC programming and CAD
- Understanding of communication protocols (DH+, Serial Rs232/RS485, ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet)
- Ability to understand routing, gateways and VLANs
