The position is within Metsähallitus’ Property Development unit, leading the national land acquisition and land-use agreements team, responsible for operations and business development as part of a new land-use unit. The manager acts as a supervisor to land-use specialists and property specialists, coordinating procurement and disposal of state land, and developing contract processes and governance. The team handles acquisition and disposal of state lands, as well as development of property structures to meet government needs, and manages land-use and lease agreements while preparing significant national real estate and land-use projects. The role combines people leadership, commercial thinking, negotiation skills and the preparation of decisions involving land ownership. The successful candidate will lead and develop a multi-disciplinary expert group, collaborate with municipalities, authorities and partners, and drive projects forward with a concrete strategic view for the new unit. We expect a suitable university degree, leadership experience in an expert organisation, financial and commercial know-how in land management or real estate development, understanding of real estate contracts, and strong communication in Finnish and English. We value prior experience in aligning diverse land-use needs and advocacy, knowledge of public administration or state asset management, and the ability to lead change and build a shared culture. The unit offers diverse and meaningful work in a nationwide multi-location setup with flexible hybrid work. The position is located at one of Metsähallitus’ main offices, as contractually agreed. Requirements
- University degree (suitable field)
- Experience in supervisory roles and leadership of an expert organisation
- Financial and commercial skills in land management, land deals or real estate development
- Understanding of real estate contracts
- Proven track record in developing operations and processes
- Experience in stakeholder and negotiation tasks
- Fluent Finnish and English
