We work daily in small groups with movement, crafts, music, stories and play. There are plenty of spaces to divide groups and support small-group work and quiet moments. In our gym, children practise movement in many ways – ball games, climbing, trampoline, balance courses. Each group travels weekly to nearby forests or playgrounds, learning safe walking in traffic, seasonal changes, and enjoying nature through activities. We go outdoors daily in all weather and focus on the joy of movement across groups, especially during afternoon outdoor times. We share meals in small groups and provide quiet times after lunch. Nap time or quiet activities help children rest and reconnect. We value open cooperation with children and families and use the TouGo app to share weekly letters about group news and photos. TouGo also facilitates quick communication about urgent matters. We believe open and respectful interaction is the key to a safe and happy day at the daycare. Your role as a child care worker is to be an important part of the team creating a safe, inspiring, and supportive daily routine. You will participate in supporting children’s growth, development, and learning together with the team, families, and the whole work community. Your core tasks include: implementing pedagogy, contributing to designing and evaluating high-quality early childhood education as part of the team, and delivering small-group and full-day pedagogy according to Touhula Rhythm; taking responsibility for your own small group and contributing to pedagogical documentation and the development of children’s early childhood plans with the team; ensuring the learning environment is diverse, safe, and tidy; building trust and open communication with families and creating a positive atmosphere in every interaction.
