Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a special education teacher for basic education, primary location: Vasaramäen School (grades 7-9). The position is fixed-term from 1.9.2026 to 5.6.2027. As a special education teacher, you are an essential part of our school's flexible and diverse learning support. We hope you have good cooperation skills, an encouraging pedagogical attitude, skills in individual student interaction, and an active and independent approach to work. In your work, you will plan and implement learning and schooling support. In addition to group-specific support, your work includes supporting students in need of individual support and providing behavioral support in cooperation with other adults in the school. Your role also includes special pedagogical consultation, which is carried out through joint discussions and co-teaching by modeling and guiding. Approximately 700 students in grades 1-9 and preparatory education groups study at the school. The school operates in three units: Lehmus unit (primary school), Puistokoulu unit, and Tenniskenttä unit (secondary school). The school emphasizes physical education - traditional sports classes operate in grades 7-9. Community and an active daily routine are the cornerstones of the school's operations. Eligibility requirements are determined by the Decree on the Eligibility Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/1998). The person selected for the position must provide a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act (Act on the Verification of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). A probationary period applies to the official relationship.
