Digian Business Automation Services unit is seeking an experienced software developer to build production-ready AI and automation solutions for core processes of Finnish organizations. The work combines backend development, API integrations, programmatic UI automation, data extraction, and language models. The first projects are in insurance and finance sectors. Initially, work involves 1-2 days per week in the Helsinki metropolitan area, especially during start-up and planning phases, with flexible work otherwise. Responsibilities include building backend processes, automations, API integrations, utilizing UI automation tools like Playwright or Selenium, data collection from APIs, databases, files, websites, and interfaces, integrating language models and agent-based solutions into rule-based processes, designing workflows with state management, monitoring, and human approval, designing data models, interfaces, and technical solutions with client architects, ensuring production readiness including architecture, security, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and maintenance, and developing methods to evaluate AI solution quality and reliability through automated testing. Requirements include at least one year of software development experience with Python, TypeScript, Java, .NET, or similar, experience with production automation, integrations, backend processes, or backend services, understanding of architecture, testing, CI/CD, and maintainability, skills to integrate LLM and agent-based solutions into production systems, readiness to tackle diverse technical challenges from backend to data extraction, proficiency in discussing technical options with clients and team, fluent Finnish and good professional English, and security clearance. Preferred skills include experience with agent architectures, frameworks like LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, Claude SDK, RAG solutions, hybrid search, context management, data retrieval in production environments, Azure cloud and DevOps practices, and experience in regulated industries like insurance, finance, or public sector, with open APIs and standards, and AI development tools like Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot. The role offers the chance to develop next-generation AI-based process automation as part of Digia’s customer projects, deploying solutions in customer environments with business rules, security, maintainability, and user workflows. The team provides peer review, shared best practices, and common models, supporting skill development with dedicated time, AI tools, and opportunities to expand into new industries.
