FULL-TIME HOURLY TEACHER OF ENGLISH AND SWEDISH FOR UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL The education services of the Municipality of Liminka are seeking an hourly teacher of English and Swedish. The place of work is Liminka Upper Secondary School, and the position is full-time. The position is temporary from August 10, 2026, to April 13, 2027, until the end of the fourth period. The position will be filled as soon as possible. Interviews may begin during the application period, and the position may be filled during the application period once a suitable person is found due to the urgency of the role. Liminka Upper Secondary School is a community of approximately 350 students and over 20 employees. The operational approach is student-centered. We work in a renovated upper secondary school building in the center of Liminka. Our institution has several development focus areas where staff can take on roles and responsibilities according to their own interests and expertise. As a North Finnish specialty, we offer studies on an English- and Finnish-language track with a CLIL pedagogical approach as a joint application target. We value the applicant's work experience in upper secondary school, knowledge of the national development of upper secondary education, proficiency in ICT teaching applications, and a motivated and positive mindset. The work of a language teacher requires initiative, a flexible and student-centered approach, and the ability to gain the trust of students. In this position, the development of bilingual education and internationalization are essential components. We hope the applicant also has a perspective on other focus areas of our institution: entrepreneurship education, team upper secondary school activities, and STEAM pedagogy. Eligibility requirements are determined in accordance with the Act on the Qualifications of Teaching Staff (986/1998). Before the selection is confirmed, and no later than 30 days after receiving notification of the selection decision, the selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
