The South Savo Wellbeing Services County Eloisa is seeking an Instructor for a permanent position in the relief staff for disability residential services in Mikkeli, starting August 10, 2026, or as agreed. Relief staff support disability residential service units in acute absence situations by replacing absent personnel and ensuring the smoothness of operations and the continuity of clients' safe daily lives. The Instructor works independently according to clients' individual plans. Your work includes high-quality basic care for clients, guidance in daily life, and supporting independent functioning. You will participate in promoting the client's functional capacity, implementing a rehabilitative approach, and performing necessary care procedures according to your expertise (e.g., wound care, catheterization). As an Instructor, you will utilize and guide clients in the use of wellbeing technology, prepare daily plans, and support daily activities in areas such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and rehabilitation. Your work also includes strengthening social functional capacity and guiding work, day, and leisure activities. Your duties also include observing, assessing, and documenting client needs, respecting the right to self-determination, and utilizing alternative communication methods. The work requires situational awareness, anticipation, and the ability to adapt in varying situations. You will operate according to the Avekki operating model. The Instructor implements medication therapy according to the unit's medication plan and assesses the need for restrictive measures in accordance with the Act on Intellectual Disability Services. Additionally, you are responsible for implementing the self-monitoring plan, the quality and safety of services, and ensuring client participation. We value an ethical approach to work, good interaction skills, and strong community competence. The position requires a valid driving license and the possibility of using a car. Eligibility requirements are a suitable vocational qualification in the social and health care sector or a previous vocational qualification of the school level in the field, as well as registration in Valvira's professional register. Additionally, sufficient oral and written Finnish language skills are required for the performance of the duties. The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding respiratory tuberculosis according to Section 55. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the employment relationship. A person working with disabled people must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work in service relationships exceeding 3 months (Supervision Act 741/2023 Section 28).
