Your mission We are looking for a Quality Engineer with a strong automation mindset to help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Matrix42 products. The role combines quality assurance, test automation, release validation, and continuous improvement activities within Agile product development teams. As a Quality Engineer, you will work closely with Software Engineers and Product Managers throughout the entire software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies, expanding automated test coverage, validating releases, and helping teams continuously improve product quality. Beyond testing activities, you will act as a quality advocate, promoting test automation, shift-left testing, and engineering best practices that help prevent defects before they reach customers. You will also contribute to the continuous modernization of our quality engineering landscape, helping evolve existing test automation solutions and drive adoption of modern testing frameworks, tools, and practices. Core Responsibilities and Duties: - Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites to ensure product quality, reliability, and performance. - Execute and coordinate functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle. - Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product Managers to identify quality risks, improve testability, and ensure high-quality product releases. - Identify, document, and validate software defects while supporting root cause analysis and continuous quality improvement initiatives. - Promote quality engineering best practices, including test automation, shift-left testing, and CI/CD quality gates within Agile development teams. Additional Responsibilities and Duties: - Contribute to the continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and tooling. - Support CI/CD quality gates and release validation activities. - Monitor quality metrics and provide input on release readiness and quality risks. - Participate in requirements reviews and provide feedback on acceptance criteria and test coverage. - Share testing knowledge and best practices across teams and support quality engineering initiatives. Your profile Must have: - Proven experience in Software Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Test Automation. - Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies. - Experience testing web-based applications and APIs. - Strong understanding of software testing principles, defect management, and quality assurance best practices. - Experience working within Agile/Scrum development teams. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. - Good written and spoken English. Nice to have: - Experience with modern test automation frameworks (e.g. Playwright, Cypress, Selenium). - Experience migrating or modernizing automated testing solutions. - Experience with JavaScript and/or TypeScript. - Familiarity with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. - Experience testing SaaS or cloud-based applications. - Knowledge of API, performance, and security testing. - Understanding of DevOps and modern software delivery practices. - Experience using AI-assisted testing tools and techniques. - Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) solutions and enterprise software.
