Job Description

In the Data-Driven Management unit, we build a comprehensive and reliable data foundation and produce valuable information to support decision-making for management and professionals. Developing cost-effectiveness is a central theme for us: how can we achieve the maximum health and well-being with limited resources? The Development Manager acts as an active partner to the management of service areas in managing and developing the data-driven management system. This is a new role: you are not a traditional report producer but a strategic partner to management who proactively identifies information needs, structures them into feasible projects, and leads the most demanding development projects as a project manager. You serve the service area from the entire unit’s service portfolio. Our unit’s activities include developing the data foundation and data platform, BI reporting, APTJ reporting, data services, and data analytics. In your work, you will build long-term partnerships with the management of the service area to ensure that data genuinely supports leadership. The goal is not dozens of isolated reports but a few well-designed solutions that meet real management needs. You will coordinate cross-functional information needs and maintain a clear overview of the situation regarding data-driven management in the service area. You will be part of a unit that is systematically transforming and evolving from reporting services to an organizational enabler of knowledge. The development manager is at the core of this change. We work with modern tools such as Databricks, Azure, and Power BI, and as a development manager, you will have the best opportunities to leverage the entire unit’s capabilities for the benefit of the service area. By working with the wellbeing area team, you have the opportunity to do meaningful work that impacts the health and well-being of residents. You will join a skilled and encouraging team where collaboration and expert support foster your professional growth. We work flexibly both remotely and in the office. You will benefit from the strengths of teamwork but also enjoy the flexibility of remote work. Our office is located in Otaniemi, near the metro station. Workplace name and address: Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Area, Corporate Administration, Tekniikantie 15, 02150 Espoo. Working hours: 36 hours and 15 minutes per week. The position is permanent. Suitable education for the role: Relevant higher education degree. Requirements: Experience in developing data-driven management or similar customer or partnership work; Ability to identify and structure complex information needs and formulate them into feasible projects; Experience in project management or coordination; Understanding of BI reporting and data production: technical depth is not required, but understanding of the overall picture is; Good interaction and communication skills: daily interaction with management and experts; Solution-oriented and proactive work approach; Fluent Finnish oral and written skills. Candidates may be asked to provide a substance abuse certificate. Preferred qualifications include experience in social and health care operations and data, experience in the public sector or wellbeing environment, experience in data management or data production processes, and experience with agile principles. We are agents of change. We reform boldly and preserve what works. We invest in employee well-being and offer benefits including a lunch benefit and €300 annual allowance for cultural, well-being, sports, or travel tickets. Opportunities for online training are provided.
