Competence Lead – Software Development & AI Would you like to lead the growth of software development experts and develop the competence needed to build the digital solutions of the future? We are looking for a Competence Lead for Cinia’s Digital Solutions business to lead a competence team of approximately 25 software development experts. The role combines people leadership, competence development and technological expertise. You will also participate in customer projects and influence how we develop software development competence and use new technologies, especially AI. Your workplace is our pleasant Helsinki office, where you can work flexibly in a hybrid model. Your work: As Competence Lead, you are responsible for leading approximately 25 software development experts. You are a present manager and coach who supports the experts’ career development, wellbeing and success, and helps them grow in their work and customer projects. You follow developments in software development and technology, identify changing competence needs and build the required capabilities together with experts and the business. AI and its impact on software development are particularly central. You can influence how AI, agent solutions and new ways of working are used, and how the necessary competence is developed. You are also responsible for skills availability and delivery capability together with the business, other Competence Leads and customer-facing teams. You participate in resourcing and allocation, identify skills gaps and advance the necessary development actions. In addition to management, the role includes customer work in which you use your area of expertise in our customers’ software development projects. Depending on your skills and interests, the role may focus on software architecture, AI-native development, project leadership, agent solutions or other modern software development services that use AI. To succeed in the role: We are looking for a technology professional who is enthusiastic about leading people and understands the everyday realities of software development, business needs and the future direction of technology. You can combine people and competence development with technological insight and business-oriented thinking. You have: - Management experience and a desire to lead people. - A strong background in software development and a good understanding of modern software development technologies. - The ability to identify future competence needs and build new capabilities based on them. - Practical experience using AI in software development, and an interest in developing AI and agent solutions. - A business-oriented, solution-focused approach and experience working with customers. - The ability to inspire, motivate and lead by example in a changing environment. - Fluent Finnish. We also value experience in change leadership, implementing technological change and building new ways of working, as well as an understanding of how AI is changing software developers’ work and competence needs.
