About the role

The duties of the Specialist relate to the nuclear waste management functional entity of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The duties of the Nuclear Energy and Energy Security group include the top management and supervision, licensing, and legislation of the use of nuclear energy. The duties also include, among other things, environmental impact assessment procedures for nuclear plant projects, nuclear liability matters, and nuclear waste management. In addition to nuclear energy, the group is responsible for broader customer entities linked to energy security and energy technology issues, as well as the coordination of NATO-related matters for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The position involves the preparation and development of matters related to nuclear waste management for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. The area of responsibility includes strategic development of the field, preparation of decisions, certain administrative tasks, as well as EU and international cooperation. The duties include the preparation and presentation of ministry decisions concerning nuclear waste management, participation in the preparation of licensing decisions by the Government, and the steering of the field's research program and the State Nuclear Waste Management Fund. The position includes participation in legislative drafting as a nuclear waste management expert on a case-by-case basis.
