Official Veterinarian

The City of Porvoo’s environmental health care service is seeking a substitute animal welfare inspector veterinarian for the period 4 January–11 August 2027. The work area includes the cities of Porvoo and Loviisa and the municipalities of Askola, Lapinjärvi, Myrskylä, Pornainen, Pukkila and Sipoo. The duties include official tasks relating to the supervision of animal health and welfare. The unit has another full-time animal welfare inspector veterinarian and a part-time animal welfare inspector veterinarian. Animal welfare inspections based on suspicion are conducted in pairs. Part-time remote work is possible. We are looking for a person with a positive attitude and good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Eligibility requires a veterinarian’s licence valid in Finland, familiarity with the duties of the position, a category B driving licence, oral proficiency in both national languages of Finland and good written proficiency in one of the two national languages. Knowledge of the work area and experience in supervisory duties are considered an advantage. The work requires use of a personal car. Weekly working time is 38.25 hours. Salary is determined according to the KVTES collective agreement. The level-based salary is €5,724.91 per month. The probationary period is half the length of the employment relationship.
