About the role

Join our skilled and warm-hearted team caring for abdominal surgery emergency patients! We are seeking registered nurses for permanent positions at Jorvi Hospital's abdominal surgery ward 3D-E. You will have a unique opportunity to start working in a newly completed ward building on the Jorvi campus. If you are interested, you can expect work where you can utilize and develop your expertise with demanding abdominal surgery emergency patients. You will work in a versatile and demanding specialized medical care environment where good community spirit, collegial support, and continuous learning are part of everyday life. Our ward treats abdominal surgery emergency patients transferred from emergency clinics and monitoring units. Our largest patient groups include patients arriving for appendectomies, gallbladder-related issues, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, intestinal obstructions, and abdominal pain patients requiring investigation and diagnosis. We also work closely with Jorvi's elective abdominal surgery ward. Job Description and Tasks The nature of surgical nursing on our wards includes pre- and postoperative care, systematic monitoring and assessment of the patient's condition, management of acute situations, administration of medication and fluid therapy, and patient guidance. The work is three-shift work, guided by close multidisciplinary cooperation and strong collegiality. The registered nurse's work is based on evidence-based nursing practices. You are responsible for the holistic consideration of the individual needs of the patient and their loved ones in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. You support the patient and their relatives in the treatment of the illness and adaptation to it, and you implement medication therapy safely. You actively develop and maintain your expertise, guide students and new colleagues, and fluently utilize technology and digital services. You participate in the development and evaluation of evidence-based practices and work in close, goal-oriented cooperation with different professional groups for the best interest of the patient.
