We are currently looking for a Senior Superintendent to join our skilled Global Field Services team. Depending on your experience and qualifications, the position may also be offered at the level of Service Engineer, Senior Service Engineer, or Superintendent... This is a permanent position, with Vaasa, Finland as the preferred location. However, Turku and Helsinki (Finland) may also be considered for the right candidate. What will you be doing? As Senior Superintendent in Global Field Services, your daily work would revolve around performing and leading commissioning, overhauls, troubleshooting, on-site repairs, audits, measurement, analysis, and upgrades on marine and land-based installations with Wärtsilä engines and equipment. In this exciting role, you'll have the opportunity to work internationally and travel the world for various service jobs approximately 150 days per year... When you are not traveling, you will be able to work partially remotely, in line with our hybrid work model. Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: - Pre-commissioning and commissioning of Wärtsilä equipment with the latest automation and electrical technologies for marine installations. - Troubleshooting by identifying failures, adjusting and attending (sea) trial runs of installations, according to instructions and expected performance requirements. - Performing installation audits at various land and sea-based installations. - Preparing service reports and travel expenses on time in accordance with expected Wärtsilä quality. - Participating in and contributing to improvement of new products when performing warranty activities. - Conforming and abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies. - Actively promoting Wärtsilä products and services. - Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and positive interactions with customers. - Continuously expanding your knowledge of the UNIC system, which will be your main focus in this role. The following will enable you to succeed in this role: - BSc or MSc in Automation Engineering or relevant work experience to compensate for lack of formal education. - Experience working in automation focused field service roles. - Proven leadership qualities and decision-making skills. - Strong practical problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset, along with resourcefulness to adjust and adapt when faced with a challenge. - Passion for learning and professional growth, along with a desire to keep up with the latest innovations. - Safety-first mindset. - Proficient English and Finnish language skills, both written and spoken. - Highly effective technical communication skills, both written and spoken. - Flexibility to travel globally for approximately 150 days per year. - Drive for the common goal of providing our customers with the best possible service experience. You will be at an advantage with: - Prior knowledge of the UNIC system or other automation systems. - Experience with engine installation and troubleshooting (Diesel, Dual Fuel, Gas).
