As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for the construction of your child group's operational culture and learning environment, the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of pedagogical activities, and the support of children's individual learning in accordance with the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's operational plan, and the child's vasu. Eligibility conditions: We require that you have eligibility in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or, in accordance with the transitional provision (Section 75), a Bachelor of Education degree (LTO), a suitable university of applied sciences degree, or a previous equivalent college-level degree, e.g., a kindergarten teacher's or social educator's degree (Act 272/2005 and Decree No. 608/2005). A recognition decision made by the National Agency for Education based on foreign education also satisfies the eligibility requirement for the position applied for. In addition, we require good oral and written Finnish language skills. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance for the respiratory organs of those working with children under school age is checked (Communicable Diseases Act Section 55). When you start a permanent employment relationship as an early childhood education teacher with the City of Helsinki in 2026, we offer you an incentive bonus of 2000 euros.
