Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Engineering team at a pivotal moment. You will own quality end-to-end and help us ship better, faster, every single day. We already have an established automated test suite across unit, integration and E2E. Now we need a dedicated owner to consolidate, standardise and scale it, and lead us toward continuous delivery as we grow. This is a hands-on, senior-level engineering role focused on quality. You will set the test strategy, write and review automation code, design CI/CD quality gates, and shift how the whole engineering organisation thinks about quality. You will not be doing this alone. You join a group of leads covering QA, Developer Experience and DevOps who work hand in hand on engineering productivity, and you partner closely with our Platform Engineering team on tooling and infrastructure. You will also work with QA engineers who build and maintain test coverage day to day, while developers own the tests for their own code. Your craft is QA, and you set the standard for it. You own the quality standards and have the final say on what blocks a merge. The gates you define are binding. You have no direct reports, so your impact comes from setting standards the team trusts and wants to follow, not from mandating. Our stack: SQL, .NET, Angular, Azure and Playwright. Your key responsibilities include owning the testing strategy across the full test pyramid (unit, integration, E2E and API) and expanding coverage with Playwright where it adds the most value, owning the quality gates inside our Azure CI/CD pipelines that give developers fast, reliable feedback, as part of our path toward continuous delivery, raising the bar on how developers test through shared standards, hands-on code review and coaching, owning the quality metrics that matter: escape defect rate, change failure rate, coverage trends and DORA metrics, and using them to drive real improvement, and driving a shift-left culture in close collaboration with Platform Engineering, making quality a natural part of how engineers work.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years in software or quality engineering
  • Strong programming skills in test automation
  • Experience with Playwright or Selenium
  • Designing or contributing to CI/CD pipelines in Azure
  • Experience with API testing
  • Understanding of DORA metrics
  • Part of or led transformation to continuous delivery
  • Clear communication in English
