School Attendance Assistant

School Attendance Assistant, personal student guide We are seeking a school attendance assistant to serve as a personal student guide for a 4th grade student studying in preparatory education for basic education at the Leppävesi old school. The building hosts 185 students from grades 4–6 of Leppävesi school. In this role, you will support the student's daily school attendance in cooperation with the teacher, special education teacher, and other school staff. You will primarily work in the classroom with other general education students, and occasionally in a separate space one-on-one with the student. You will support the student during lessons, in various school day situations, in learning the Finnish language, and in integrating into the school community. The work also includes considering the student's individual needs and creating a safe and encouraging learning environment. The student studies according to the preparatory education for basic education. The student does not speak Finnish or English, so interaction skills, the ability to use alternative communication methods, and a patient and sensitive approach are emphasized in this role. We expect from the applicant: - Education suitable for the role of school attendance assistant or other relevant expertise - Good cooperation and interaction skills - Flexibility, initiative, and a responsible approach to work - Interest in multicultural education and individual student support.
