About the role

Come lead the services of the swimming hall and outdoor swimming pool! We are seeking a Sports Services Manager for a permanent position due to the retirement of the current incumbent. In your work, you will be responsible for the user services of the swimming hall and outdoor swimming pool, as well as the overall coordination of sports instruction, swimming lessons, and supervision. In this role, you will lead the service entity, ensure operational safety, and develop the customer experience together with skilled staff and stakeholders. You will be part of the sports services management team and receive support from professional personnel. Coordination and planning of sports instruction are carried out together with a sports planner, and expertise related to pool technology is provided by the team of the sports facility manager, who is your colleague. As a Sports Services Manager: - you lead the work of swimming supervisors, swimming instructors, and sports instructors, - you are responsible for the daily operations, customer experience, and quality of the swimming hall and outdoor swimming pool, and - you ensure customer safety and operational quality. We offer you a versatile and responsible supervisory role, the opportunity to influence the development of sports services, the support of a professional and committed work community, and a modern and evolving work environment. The Kerava swimming hall was completed after an extensive renovation in 2019, and the renovation of the outdoor swimming pool will be completed for the 2027 summer season, allowing you to utilize your expertise in a completely new operating environment. The eligibility requirement for the position is a suitable university degree or an equivalent previous degree. The position requires experience in supervisory work and sufficient familiarity with swimming hall user services, operations, and safety. You will succeed in the role if you have demonstrated practical work experience in a swimming hall environment, the ability to lead people, daily operations, and change, as well as good interaction and cooperation skills. Experience in developing sports services and managing customer-oriented services is considered an advantage. We require excellent oral and written Finnish language skills and good English language skills. A 6-month probationary period applies to the position. Degree certificates proving eligibility must be attached to the job application. Interviews will be organized in week 36.
