We recruit an educational psychologist for a temporary pregnancy leave cover at Ammattiopisto Tavastialle in Hämeenlinna. The position runs from 17 August to 31 December 2026. In schools and educational institutions, psychologists work alongside qualified school counselors and school nurses; a school doctor is also part of the student welfare team. Our energetic psychologist team is accessible for support. We value professional interaction, timely services, and collaboration with other professionals. We focus on preventive services in line with student welfare law. Duties include individualized student guidance and wellbeing support, assessments of learning difficulties, and community work. You will have space to plan and execute your work independently. Work primarily takes place at the educational institution, with partial remote work possible. Tools enable working while commuting by train or bus using our commuter benefits. A car is required for smooth work. We arrange onboarding so you can start calmly. We offer an engaging role in a developing student welfare field, with opportunities for training and regular group supervision. Support from your supervisor and colleagues is always available; staff wellbeing is important. We also contribute to multidisciplinary structures benefiting the entire welfare region. If you are the right fit, you bring responsible, positive collaboration with clients of different ages, eagerness to adopt new and multidisciplinary work methods, and a goal to tailor approaches to youths’ needs. Appointment requires licensed psychologist status. Experience in education or with children and youth is valued; students in final stages of study are considered. Interviews can begin during the application period; the position is filled when a suitable candidate is found. For direct client work, vaccination proof per Infectious Diseases Act sections 48 and 55 is required, and a police background check is required for work with children as per law.
