INTO SCHOOL Herttoniemi is a growing daycare offering preschool education in Finnish and English for children aged 1–6. Our practice is based on the internationally award-winning INTO SCHOOL concept, combining creativity, musical expression, diverse self-expression, positive pedagogy, and strengthening the child’s self-confidence and emotional skills. In our daily work, children are motivated by storytelling, making music, exploring, curiosity, and courage. The INTO SCHOOL pedagogy includes a holistic approach to the child, supporting creativity, enhancing group functioning, and using digital tools in a pedagogically planned way. We are now seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and warmly child- and adult-oriented daycare leader for our Herttoniemi unit to join our diamond team. As a daycare leader you will be responsible for the unit’s overall management, with emphasis on staff leadership, leading pedagogical work, cooperation with families, and developing daily structures and culture. You are an approachable, clear and encouraging leader who supports the team’s success, well-being and professional growth. We require proven experience in daycare leadership or similar responsibilities in early childhood education. You have strong skills in personnel, pedagogy, family collaboration, and financial management. You possess excellent communication skills in Finnish and English and can build trust with staff, families and partners. Success in the role requires strong pedagogical expertise, good organizational ability, decision-making in changing situations, and the ability to lead processes in a goal-oriented, people-centered way. Collaboration with the city and other stakeholders is an important part of the role.
