About the role

Two telecommunications duty officers are sought for the Telecommunications Center. The positions are located at the National Bureau of Investigation's Intelligence Department Telecommunications Center, which houses the national SIRENE office as well as the 24/7 duty operations of the national centers for INTERPOL and Europol. The place of work is the Vantaa office. Those selected for the tasks will be responsible for the quality and legality checks of wanted notices stored in the Schengen and Interpol information systems, as well as the related exchange of information. The duties include the aforementioned duty operations and the tasks of the police's centralized contact point for international crime and criminal intelligence exchange. As part of their duties, the selected persons will also support domestic and international law enforcement authorities in the exchange of information related to international crime prevention and intelligence cooperation. Additionally, the personnel will handle urgent service requests concerning life and health from internet service providers received by the unit. The Telecommunications Center, together with the PTR center, forms the National Bureau of Investigation's Situation Center. In this role, those selected will support the operational activities of local authorities, e.g., through information retrieval from international police cooperation authority registers and through the centralized contact points of other countries. The tasks also include actions related to the search for internationally wanted persons and the recovery of criminal proceeds in cooperation with Finnish and other countries' authorities. The work is shift work, as the Telecommunications Center is operational 24 hours a day. The application period has been extended until 10.08.2026 at 16:15.
