Rail yard worker

We are seeking a licensed rail yard worker with a license for mobile equipment, to fill a fixed-term position at the Helsinki depot. The duties include yard work and performing switching operations according to instructions with a radio-controlled locomotive. The work is irregular 3-shift work. You should have a license for operating mobile equipment and experience in yard work. You are proactive, methodical, cooperative and eager to learn new things. We value flexibility, planning ability, and independent and creative problem-solving. Technical understanding is an asset. You have excellent prerequisites for this role if you are used to shift work – trains run around the clock every day of the year; you are not afraid of outdoor work – seasonal changes are familiar; you are a team player with good physical condition – in a single shift you may walk several kilometres.
