We are now looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join Polestar Digital at our headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. Let us describe the challenge we offer As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of customer‑facing digital products and internal platforms that support the vehicle purchasing journey. You will work across frontend, backend, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, validating solutions and ensuring that features meet both business and technical requirements before release. Acting as a key partner to Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and Operations teams, you will translate product requirements into effective test strategies and ensure that defects are identified early and resolved efficiently. The role combines hands‑on testing, automation, and continuous improvement of quality practices, contributing to scalable and high‑quality systems used globally across markets and internal operations. You will also stay up to date with modern QA methodologies and emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted testing approaches. What you'll do You will ensure high‑quality delivery across Polestar’s digital platforms by validating solutions, improving test coverage, and driving continuous improvement in quality practices. Your responsibilities include: - Ensuring business requirements and acceptance criteria are fulfilled through comprehensive testing of user stories and system workflows - Designing, executing, and maintaining manual and automated tests across frontend, backend, APIs, and integrations - Validating quality, reliability, performance, and security of new platform capabilities and releases - Collaborating with Software Engineers, Technical Leads, Product Managers, and Designers to translate product requirements into effective test strategies - Identifying, documenting, prioritizing, and tracking defects, while supporting teams in root‑cause analysis and resolution - Contributing to test automation frameworks and improving overall test coverage and development practices - Working closely with cross‑functional agile teams to continuously improve software quality and delivery processes - Monitoring and evaluating quality metrics and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives - Staying up to date with industry best practices, modern QA methodologies, and emerging technologies, including AI‑assisted testing approaches - Documenting test plans, test results, and quality standards across the development lifecycle In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, Technical Leads, and Operations teams, ensuring alignment across technical and business needs while driving quality across the full development lifecycle. Who you are You are a structured and analytical quality professional with strong ownership and a proactive approach to ensuring high‑quality outcomes. You are comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams, and you focus on identifying and resolving issues early to enable smooth and reliable delivery. You combine hands‑on testing expertise with a continuous improvement mindset and an interest in modern technologies shaping the future of software quality. To be a great fit for this position, we believe you have: - Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with Quality Assurance methodologies and software testing principles - Experience testing modern web applications and distributed systems across frontend and backend technologies - Experience with test automation tools and frameworks for UI, API, and integration testing - Understanding of React, TypeScript, .NET (C#), Node.js, APIs, and AWS‑based systems from a testing perspective - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, GitHub workflows, and containerized environments - Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and experience working in cross‑functional product teams - Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills - Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams and stakeholders - Experience with commerce, payments, financing, order management, or customer journey platforms is considered an advantage - Atleast 4 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance People at Polestar We know that a change is needed.
