Early childhood education social worker

Vieremä municipality seeks a substitute Early Childhood Education Social Worker for the Nuppulan day care center's rotating care group from 19 Oct 2026 to 2 Sep 2027; the substitution may potentially continue. In day-time the rotating group works with 0-2 year old children, but during rotating shifts other groups needing care may also be moved to the rotating group. The early childhood education social worker works as part of a multidisciplinary teaching team, contributing to the upbringing, care and teaching duties in early childhood education. The core competencies focus on collaboration with families, supporting the child's social growth, and strengthening timely access to early support from family services. We seek a professional interested in development work in early childhood education, preferably with prior experience in the field. We value strong communication and cooperation skills, a positive proactive attitude and a development-oriented approach to enable high-quality full-day pedagogy. Creativity, flexibility and humor also help in the changing daily routines of day care work. The social worker will perform shift work; early mornings and late evenings, and occasionally weekends. Eligibility for the role requires at least the social and health care higher education degree with at least 60 ECTS in early childhood education and social pedagogy, or a social services bachelor degree supplemented with those studies (540/2018 27§). If qualified applicants are lacking, the substitution may also be filled by a trained applicant with work experience. Salary is in accordance with KVTES. The selected candidate must present a criminal background check as required by law for those working with children. A probationary period applies.
