The world sees the Snap Store and Charmhub.io marketplaces; it's a unified system to manage architectures, releases, betas, and more. You will help scale a SaaS product and learn from Canonical's security team. Responsibilities include leading a remote team, coaching, setting expectations, API development with Python, and collaboration across teams. Travel up to 4 times a year. Fully remote environment. Location: remote in Americas, Europe, Middle East or Africa time zones.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a remote team of engineers in your time zone
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders
  • Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organisation
  • Build clean web service APIs to support CLI and web frontend clients using Python (Golang a plus)
  • Engage with many other teams and the open-source community
  • Collaborate with Canonical security team to deliver capabilities globally
Requirements
  • Experience in leading modern, agile software development practices
  • Experience in forming a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events
  • Ability to mentor and grow people
  • Knowledgeable and passionate about software development
  • Focus on delivering high-quality software on time
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Software development experience in Python (Golang a plus)
  • Experience with Linux system administration
