Head of Municipal Engineering

The position of Head of Municipal Engineering is often one of the most challenging; you will encounter people struggling in the snow who must be managed safely. Unsolicited complaints are guaranteed, and every street user can be a keen-eyed social media expert. You will succeed best with a higher education degree suitable for the position (a requirement for the office), supervisory skills brought by field experience, and strong communication skills. Experience in the design and construction of earthworks projects would be a valuable addition. The position offers a diverse job description and the opportunity to develop through challenging projects. The working languages are Finnish and, if necessary, English. The Head of Municipal Engineering is required to have a suitable UAS degree or a previous degree as an engineer or technician/construction foreman, as well as good experience in the industry. Supervisory experience, readiness for the design/procurement of design for street construction projects, knowledge of industry information systems, and experience in construction are considered advantages. Additionally, excellent interaction skills within the organization and in customer contacts are expected.
