Early Childhood Education Social Worker

We are seeking an early childhood education social worker for a permanent position at the Piikinmäki daycare center, which provides daycare services. As an early childhood education social worker, you will serve as a member with educational responsibility in a group of 2-5 year olds, working together with an early childhood education teacher and childcare workers. Your working hours are primarily day shifts. In your work, you will utilize your social pedagogical expertise and examine daily life from the perspectives of the child's well-being, participation, and equality. You will support children's participation in everyday situations and strengthen the sense of community both within the children's group and the work community. You will engage in close educational cooperation with families and take into account diverse language and cultural backgrounds. Your work also includes supporting the well-being of families and ensuring timely support in cooperation with various actors. You will participate in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and development of activities in accordance with early childhood education and pre-primary education plans together with the team and other staff. Additionally, the role may involve working in multidisciplinary networks, where you have the opportunity to present your own social pedagogical expertise. The eligibility requirement is the qualification of an early childhood education social worker according to Section 27 of the Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018: at least a university of applied sciences degree in social services and health, including at least 60 ECTS credits in studies oriented towards early childhood education and social pedagogy, or a social worker's degree supplemented by these studies. Eligibility must be met by the end of the application period. Before signing the employment contract, the selected person must present a valid criminal record extract (504/2002). Work begins on September 1, 2026, or by agreement. Working hours are 38 h 15 min / week. A six-month probationary period applies to the filling of the position. Terms of employment and remuneration are determined according to KVTES. The level salary for the position starts from 2846.42 euros/month. In addition, you may receive a work experience supplement based on previous work experience (3% or 8% of the level salary) and a personal supplement based on a performance evaluation 6 months after starting.
