As a full-time hourly teacher in electrical and automation technology, you will teach and supervise components of the vocational degree in electrical and automation fields. Core duties include personalising studies, acting as a mentor for students, and planning and developing teaching and training in collaboration with the electrical team. You will also supervise on-the-job skill acquisition, and design and assess demonstrations. The role involves liaising with electrical and automation companies in Pirkanmaa. Eligibility requires the qualification for teacher employment under the Decree on qualifications for teaching staff (A 986/1998, §13; amended 1150/2017). The eligible candidate has: a suitable university degree with at least three years of practical teaching-related work experience, or an industrial special vocational qualification with at least five years of relevant experience. In addition, completion of at least 60 credits or 35 study weeks of pedagogical studies is required. If eligible candidates are lacking, applicants without the decree qualifications may be considered. We value experience in vocational education teaching and mentoring, as well as strong industry networks. The education provider requires strong, up-to-date hands-on knowledge of electrical and automation tasks. You should be passionate about individual learning needs of students and able to support diverse learning abilities toward achieving learning outcomes. You will train future electrical and automation professionals and should have insight into future skills needs. You should be active, inspiring and developmental in your teaching, and willing to share your expertise. A B-class driving license is also required. Preferable: S1/S2 electrical qualifications, pedagogical and digital competencies (e.g., Moodle), teamwork and collaboration skills, interest in developing industry-oriented education and English language skills. Salary and terms follow OVTES. The selection is conditional on presenting a valid medical certificate and a criminal record extract. There is a two-month probation period.
