Welcome as a practical nurse to the Eating Disorder Unit in Töölö on the intensive day ward S2! The Eating Disorder Unit is a special care unit that provides services primarily for the HUS area population. Care is aimed to be implemented as outpatient care. The Eating Disorder Clinic's care is supported by a full-day ward S1, an intensive day ward S2 and an 8-place day ward S3. The unit treats adolescents over 13 years old with eating disorders as well as adults. The Eating Disorder Unit's 6-place intensive day ward S2 provides rehabilitative and individuality-emphasizing care. Patients who have turned 18 with anorexia nervosa are treated on the intensive day ward S2, and the goal of treatment is the correction of nutritional status and the alleviation of the most severe eating disorder symptoms. Treatment is implemented by a multidisciplinary nursing team. The job description includes guiding, supporting and encouraging patients to a regular, permissive and diverse diet. Please note that the job description also includes model eating with patients, where we eat the same food from the kitchen in the company of patients. The intensive day ward is open Mon and Fri 7.30–15.30 and Tue-Thu 7.30–18.00. Nursing staff work 2 shifts 7.30–15.30 and 10.00–18.00. Patients come to treatment during office hours by referral.
