We are looking for a special education teacher for the demanding support special class from 1.8.2026 to 31.7.2027. Students are directed to the class city-wide. The class has 8 students with disabilities, illnesses, or functional limitations. The curriculum can be based on general or restricted syllabi. Students need full-time instruction from a special class teacher. Laakavuoren elementary school in East Helsinki is a diverse local school where everyone is different but equal. There are about 250 students and six small groups for special support. A preparatory education group started in autumn 2024. We participate in the integration-promoting 'Welcome Families' activity. Everyone at our school has the opportunity to learn good basic skills in an open atmosphere. We respect and encourage each other to participate and take responsibility. All classes collaborate flexibly. Laakavuoren elementary is on a journey of renewal and change. The school is in a process of creating a new unified basic education school in a multi-purpose building replacing the old school building during the upcoming years.
