The City of Kajaani is seeking a full-time hourly teacher for basic education for a fixed-term employment period from 24.8.2026 to 19.4.2027. This is a substitute position for a classroom teacher. Lohtaja School is a primary school for grades 1-6 with approximately 300 students. Next autumn, the teaching staff will consist of 15 classroom teachers, one lecturer, two special education teachers, three special class teachers, two support teachers for multilingual students, and the hourly classroom teacher currently being recruited. We are looking for a responsible, enthusiastic professional with development and cooperation skills to join our team. Work experience in classroom teaching, preparatory education for basic education, or other teaching for multilingual students is considered an advantage. Eligibility requirement: qualification as a classroom teacher (personnel qualification requirements for teaching staff, decree no. 986/1998). Certificates proving eligibility will be checked during a potential interview. In the absence of qualified applicants, other applicants will also be considered. Interviews may be conducted during the application period. Remuneration is according to OVTES. The salary according to the pricing identifier for a qualified hourly teacher for grades 1-6 is €2,993.15-3,294.02.
