About the role

Jakeman Oy is a company specializing in steel structures. Our factories are located in Uurainen and Kuohuneva. We design, manufacture, and install steel structures for the construction industry and industrial companies. A total of approximately 50 people work at Jakeman, with a total turnover of over €8m. We are looking for a PRODUCTION MANAGER for a permanent position at the Uurainen factory. Work begins as soon as possible by agreement. In this role, you will report to the Production Director and be responsible for the daily production operations and personnel management of the Uurainen factory. The position combines production planning and overall management, people leadership, and long-term operational development. You will ensure that production operates safely, efficiently, and with high quality, and that customer promises regarding capacity, quality, and delivery reliability are met. You will be supported by a production engineer responsible for coordinating daily and ongoing production matters. You will serve as the direct supervisor for production workers and installation personnel performing field work. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient personnel resources and practical supervisory tasks, such as planning vacations and other leaves, conducting development discussions, preparing payroll-related data, and other administrative supervisory duties. You will ensure that responsibilities and goals are clear to everyone and that work is planned and follows common operating procedures. Your key tasks include: - Planning production capacity and resources at least 4–6 weeks in advance - Leading production personnel and supporting motivation - Ensuring safe working methods and developing occupational safety - Improving productivity and the efficient utilization of personnel, facilities, and processes - Project-specific material purchases and tendering of procurements - Developing production operating methods and expertise - Ensuring customer satisfaction and timely customer communication during production projects - Ensuring production quality and delivery reliability - Monitoring and developing operations in accordance with the quality system We expect from you: The ability to grasp the overall production picture and plan operations proactively. You can prioritize, make decisions, and implement agreed-upon actions. You identify production bottlenecks and find practical solutions to improve productivity, quality, and delivery reliability. You can lead diverse people, build common operating procedures, and address deficiencies when necessary. You lead consistently, firmly, and fairly. You know how to encourage, motivate, and build a good community spirit. Successful performance in the role requires relevant experience in production and supervisory work. You also have a technical education suitable for the position. Experience with steel structures, machine shop environments, project-based manufacturing, or the construction industry will assist in adopting the role. We also value experience in production planning, procurement, quality management, and operational development. Experience in welding, managing welding production, or welding-related certifications are considered an advantage but are not mandatory. Your IT skills are up to date. Fluent written and spoken Finnish is essential for the position.
